1. I’ve been

contemplating my life and experiences during these last few months of living in France. I cannot believe I am leaving in 1 week. Living here has been nothing but wonderful. In spite of the homesickness, the complete change in my dietary habits, and living in another language, I have learned and gained so much strength.

Btw, the photo above is a shot I took while flying in a jet above England. I really need to go back there soon.

T'aime a Nantes

2. You learn what you are made of

When you travel.

Oh, and did I tell you I performed as a lead in a french play?? No? Well, I did on December 10th! The above picture is from one of our rehearsals! The title was “T’aime à Nantes,” and it was exhilarating! A comedy musical. I never thought I would be performing in a french play – actually speaking french!! (What an amazing experience.)

My friends and me fooling around at ‘La Maison.’ They’re so awesome :D

3. You should

check out this song written by my talented friend, Nick Lowe (whom I met in France!) The song is called One More Cycle, performed by Nick and Naomi Moco. It’s in English. I can’t wait to hear what Nick and his new group, The Double Club, featuring my other wonderful friend, Catherine LUX, come up with this summer.

What interesting music or travel discoveries have you made?

Captivating Images on Film

Posted in art, celebrities, emma watson, film, inspiration, movies, Pharrell Williams, Saoirse Ronan by Lauren on December 14, 2011

1. I love this

Photo of Emma Watson from her movie Ballet Shoes (which is just the cutest little story ever).

I chose to post this photo because if the color palette. The cool green-blue and warm peachy-gold colors really POP. It’s a pleasure when warm and cool colors come together.

2. A Screen cap of Pharrell Williams &

Yuka Uchida in an underground aqueduct in Japan. Taken from the Tokyo Rising documentary. See it here.

3. A view of The

In-Between, from the film, The Lovely Bones - starring Saoirse Ronan (awesome actress, btw - have you seen HANNA??). The cinematography in the film just kills me. So does the plot – but I won’t say more about that.

This is just a small sampling of some of the most captivating images I’ve seen on film. (LOTR, anyone? Peter Jackson?.)

Do you have any favorite scenes from films? What are they??

Vintage Crown 8-T3 8mm Film Movie Camera at Mclovebuddy, $50

1. There is absolutely NOTHING

wrong with being a little selfish for the holidays. So many items on sale… so many things to scratch off of your wish list!

The above film camera is totally awesome, in working condition, and is a great buy for any film aficionada!

But, if you’re less adventurous, you may wanna just stick with the following point-and-shoot camera…

Fisheye One Wood grain at Lomography, $49,

Shoots 170 degree images so you can see everything at once!

2. If you’re like

Me, you prefer giving gifts to your loved ones over receiving them, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t indulge in a little ‘self-gifting’ with one of these listed items,

“Merry Christmas, Self!”

+ When your buying your own gift, you get to skip that awkward feeling you get when your aunt gives you yet another alarm clock-radio for Christmas  (true story, lol.)

Brass ID bangle at Need Supply, $24

I recently purchased this ID bracelet. And I’m so happy I did! It’s very dainty, but the golden hue of the brass and the bracelet’s simple design cannot be beat.

Nebula iPad Case (Cotton Canvas x Leather x Wool: lining) at Mclovebuddy, $48

3. The sweetest

Thing about this Ipad case is that it is customizable. I’m not sure if alterations would add to the price. And, if I am honest, I may just buy this iPad case as an envelope clutch.

Also, at Mclovebuddy there is currently a STOREWIDE SALE. Apply Coupon Code BLACKFRICYBERMON for 20% off your total purchase!!

Giada at Home: Family Recipes from Italy and California at Amazon, $20.23

4. I am a food Fanatic

And Giada De Laurentiis is my most favorite chef!

If you love making delicious meals and want to try some new recipes - or maybe you aren’t so good but want to get better – why not go for Giada’s book? She makes cooking easy and hassle-free. A cookbook anyone can enjoy.

I Called It!: Emma Roberts

Posted in celebrities, Emma Roberts, fashion, film, magazine, Vogue's Best Dressed by Lauren on December 24, 2010

1. I said it before

And I’ll say it again, Emma Roberts is one to watch on the style front. I’m not surprised she has found her way onto the pages of InStyle’s January 2011 issue*! I called it! Anyway, I’m really interested in watching It’s Kind of a Funny Story, I’m excited to see what she’s done with her character, Noelle.

Check out the gallery for more fashionable looks from this budding starlet. I bet she’ll win an oscar one day… mark my words… sooner or later, she’ll win one.

2. You don’t have to

Take my word for it! Check out the gallery below for more pictures.

Y’see what I mean? She’s fabulous in her casual wear and on her bright nights out!

Emma Watson in Marie Claire Magazine

Posted in celebrities, emma watson, film, holidays, magazine by Lauren on November 17, 2010

 1. I rather Love

The jewelry Emma is wearing for these photos – very very nice! I’m loving her large rings. However, the whole look seems a bit confused to me. Inspite of the use of leggings and fur (real or faux – you decide), this shoot feels like spring, like early spring. It doesn’t deliver any of the warm coziness one expects with winter fashion spreads. But hey – Emma is rockin’ the pixie cut!

 2. So I feel it’s appropriate

To apologize for my absence. University, exams, yada yada yada – you know the whole deal… I cannot wait for Thanksgiving Break next week. I will be enjoying family time and delivering proper updates!

Will YOU be seeing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?????

 I WILL!

À plus tard,

Lauren
